Working with me is a safe space without judgement.
Hi! I am Lindsay Sima—it is so nice to meet you.
In our sessions, my goal is to create a space that feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a safe harbor. Whether you are navigating the heavy fog of depression, the constant hum of anxiety, or the exhausting aftermath of a narcissistic relationship, you don’t have to carry it alone. We will celebrate your wins together (sometimes with a loud “Yaassssss!” that may startle my dog) and walk through the struggles with equal parts compassion and authenticity.
What working together looks like
Our time together is led by you—what is on your mind and the goals you want to reach. I often tell my clients that after 12 years in this field, I have a deep “toolbox” of techniques we can use, including Brainspotting for trauma.
However, this is your journey. If a particular tool or “homework” assignment doesn’t feel right, we pivot. I value kind, open communication, and I aim to be a partner in your healing who is genuine, authentic, and not afraid to use a little humor to lighten the load.
About Me
Beyond the session
Healing is not a linear path, but it is one we travel at your pace. Together, we will work to set boundaries that protect your peace and build the self-esteem you deserve. My role is to help you navigate “antagonistic relational stress” and provide an affirming, safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community. I want you to leave our sessions feeling heard, supported, and equipped to handle whatever comes next.
My educational and professional qualifications
My path to therapy began in the medical field. It was my time as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) that sparked my desire to help people through their internal battles, leading me to shift from physical crisis intervention to mental health advocacy.
• Master of Social Work: Western Michigan University
• Bachelor of Psychology (with a focus on Neuroscience): Central Michigan University
• Certifications: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW); Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC).
My background in neuroscience makes me a bit of a “nerd” for how the brain works, and I use that knowledge to provide cutting-edge, trauma-informed care for my clients.

My life is not all work
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me outside. I find nature to be incredibly therapeutic and am currently working toward becoming a certified Extension Master Gardener through Michigan State University.
I live in West Michigan with my husband and our dog, Journey. I am a bird-watcher (I get far too excited for the first robins of spring), a community garden volunteer, and a massive fan of Halloween. In fact, I am one of “those people” who proudly keeps a 10-foot skeleton in my yard year-round!

Working with me is a safe space without judgement.
