I have never been to therapy before. How does it work?

Therapy is essentially just having a chat with someone where you can say whatever is on your mind. You lead the way and decide what to work on; our role is simply offering insight, perspective, and clarity on your ideas. It’s important to know that we’ll only go as far as you’re comfortable with. If you’re experiencing strong or overpowering emotions, we can do somatic work to address the anxiety in your body and help you get to a calmer place.

How often do I have to do therapy?

It depends on you and your schedule! In the beginning, it’s good to meet once a week just to get everything unloaded and begin some interventions. After you start feeling a little better, you can always switch to meeting every other week or as often as you see fit. There is no pressure to remain in anxiety treatment longer than you feel is necessary.

Will anxiety therapy really help me?

Patience is key. As long as you are kind to yourself and understand that you can’t just conquer anxiety overnight, it is fully possible to experience healing. Every client that we’ve ever seen who has stuck with therapy has experienced a change for the better.
